Navajo Turquoise Bolo Tie - Sterling Silver Signed Ernest Bilagody Fine Estate

Write a Review

Celebrate your Native American heritage with this eye-catching bolo tie. Created in sterling silver by Navajo craftsman Ernest Bilagody, this piece features a genuine turquoise and traditional Southwestern artistry. The bolo itself is dark braided leather, capped with sterling silver cones and beads. Etchings on the beads mirror the artistic designs seen in the weavings and pottery crafted by ancient pueblo-dwelling people. The center of the bolo showcases a large sterling silver slide adorned with traditional Navajo patterns. A open-cut starburst design in the center of the slide showcases an oval turquoise set in a smoothly polished silver bezel. Sandstone-colored markings on the turquoise evoke the rugged desert lands of the arid Southwest. Etched feathers embellish the slide’s four corners, perhaps symbolic of the Sacred Mountains that form the Four Corners in Navajo Land. The slide’s smoothly polished underside bears a Sterling stamp and an E. Bilagody maker’s mark. A scratch on the back of the slide appears to disguise the name of a previous owner, through the initials KPPV (possibly a Y) are etched above the scratch. In excellent condition, this authentic Native American bolo by the respected Navajo artisan Ernest Bilagody is a great addition to any collection. Please note that this piece has not been cleaned in order to preserve its valued patina.
The turquoise slide measures 3 1/4" (79.1mm) tall and 2 1/32" (51.7mm) wide, while the leather cord measures approximately 39" long.
We guarantee this piece to be sterling silver as stamped. This piece has not been professionally cleaned in order to maintain it's original vintage integrity. Please check out the enlarged pictures.
