Description
Mu Phi Epsilon was founded at the Metropolitan College of Music in 1903 as a sorority however in 1977 this group became a fraternity in 1977 and has remained as such. The Alpha chapter was the first for this fraternity. I believe this beautiful badge to be a very early edition as it is much larger and has a slightly different look. This pin features a gold lyre on a white enamel triangle center. The surrounding larger triangular border features 6 pearls and 9 amethysts along with the Greek letters in black enamel. There is an Alpha chapter guard attached via a fine chain. The Alpha features 4 amethysts and 6 pearls. This pin stands 19mm (23/32") tall and weighs in at 3.5 grams.
I guarantee this badge to be 10k gold as tested. The pin and clasp are in excellent, original, and wearable condition.
